In many cases, rat mAbs are preferable to mouse. Rats have closer genetic similarity to humans meaning they will recognize a wide range of antigens and can produce IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG and IgM antibody isotypes. Their high affinity and specificity means they are an excellent choice if your target has low molecular weight or poor immunogenic properties. Rat monoclonals are highly recommended for multiple labelling experiments.
